The Truth and Freedom

Just for the sake of reading this post gives credence to the fact that you want to know what the truth is and wants to be free in the deepest and fullest sense.

Did I hear somebody ask what is the truth and free from what exactly?

John 14:6 gives us the answer; Jesus told him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

According to the text, Jesus is the truth we need to know which leads us to the next question which is freedom from what?

You will know the truth regarding salvation, and the truth will set you free from the penalty of sin. JOHN 8:32 AMP.

This therefore means that not knowing the truth can lead to destruction and death for it is written my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

It is important to state the the main reason why God gave us his only begotten son Jesus to die for us is to free us from the bondage of sin and death by reconciling us back to Himself.

There’s power, freedom, victory, success, joy, love, peace and life in the blood of Jesus Christ.

[33] But we are descendants of Abraham, they said. We have never been slaves to anyone. What do you mean, You will be set free?

[34] Jesus replied, I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.

[35] A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever.

[36] So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
John 8:33-36 NLT

The bible says that by one man’s disobedience sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.

Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many shall be made righteous.
Romans 5:12,19

The truth is the Word which is the light of the world and His life brought life to everyone through which many will be made righteous. The truth is “Jesus Christ” the son of God, the first born from the death and we are the slaves due to our sinful nature.

However, the good news is that as we come to the knowledge of the truth by confessing our sins and accepting Christ through faith and by walking and abiding in Him, we are set free thereby making us joint heirs with Christ.

What this simply means is that we are to “put off” the old way of thinking and behaving, and “put on” the new, transformed nature of Christ.

The freedom Jesus offers is a spiritual freedom from the bondage of sin that is release from the lifestyle of habitual lawlessness.

Let me know what your thoughts are concerning this post..

Many thanks for coming around, until next time…..
