Paul constantly reminded us in the book of Colossians about the importance of giving thanks to God. Do you think Paul was trying to make a point?
Why does he think being thankful is so important? Perhaps he recognizes that being thankful can change everything within and around us.
Giving thanks to God for what he has done for us implies that we are not unmindful of his love and blessings. Thanksgiving gladdens God’s heart and shows how grateful and appreciative we are.
Thank you is what entitles us for the next act of favor.
Being thankful means that we thank God not only in good times, it also means being thankful in the midst of challenges.
There’s a song that says the God of the good times is the God of the bad times. The God of the mountains is also the God of the valley.
God is always with those who give him thanks and to think that there’s always something to be thankful for.
In everything give thanks for this is the will of God concerning you. 1Thessalonians 5:18
The fact that we are alive and we know that we are alive is enough to thank God, some people are on life support, some are roaming the streets and they don’t know. We are healthy, we are free and can move freely without any assistance, we have shelter, we are not begging before we eat.
We have every reason to give God thanks for it is a noble addiction to give thanks unto God.
Praise him for his mighty acts; praise him according to his excellent greatness. Psalms 150:2
And David recounted to Saul how God helped him rescued his father’s sheep from a lion and a bear and consequently club the lion and bear to death. Calm down and count your blessings
Gratitude is what determines your ultimate altitude
If you do not think deep you will not be able to give God thanks.

Being thankful brings about positive disposition in our relationship with God and man. A grateful person is a joy to be around because he or she always have a reason to give thanks and such person is confident, happy and hopeful because the joy of the Lord is a source of strength.
Ungrateful people do not see reasons to give thanks because they whines and complains. One thing about complaints is that it may look logical but thanksgiving is the right way to go because it is the most potent force on earth.
In John 6:11Jesus gave thanks and the food multiplied, also in John 11:41-42 Jesus gave thanks and Lazarus that was dead came back to life.
In Acts 16:25-27 Paul and Silas sang praises unto God and the prison doors were thrown opened
Thanksgiving is a very rich rostrum for the manifestation of signs and wonders
Thanksgiving can be likened to a recurrent expenditure we must service on a daily basis
If God still means anything to us then praise and thanksgiving is the only way to show it
